Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
— 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Prayer Ministry

At Sardis Fellowship, we believe that prayer is integral to our faith because is builds our relationship with God and is an active form of worship. Praying allows us to worship God by:

  • Praising God for who he is and what he has done

  • Receiving forgiveness by confessing and repenting of our sins

  • Asking for help and healing

  • Receiving peace, joy, comfort, strength, and courage, in all circumstances

  • Allowing us to intercede for others

  • Giving us opportunity to be part of the work that God is doing on earth

  • Allowing us to see beyond ourselves into what God is doing in and through us and others

When you join our Prayer Team, you’ll receive regular email updates with prayer requests from our church family and community. As part of this team, you’ll commit to praying faithfully for these needs. Please note that all prayer requests must be kept completely confidential, unless otherwise stated.

Care Ministry

Our Care Ministry at Sardis Fellowship seeks to be there for people when going though a time of need, providing practical and emotional support to show love and compassion when it’s needed most.

There are many ways to serve on our Care Team, including through prayer, providing meals to those in need, and through visits. If you would like to join our Care Team and provide care in any way, we’d love to have you! Every act of care can make a difference.

Day of Prayer and Fasting

As an initiative to increase our dependency on the Spirit, and seeking God to do a transformative work in and through Sardis Fellowship, we set aside the first Monday of the month to fast and pray. We know not everyone is able to do this in the same way, or to the same degree, so we ask you to consider how you can make this work for you.

Each month we highlight something to focus on, whether that be in the life of our church family, our local community or world. Sometimes we have specific things for you to pray through and sometimes we just give you the focus and allow God’s Spirit to guide you in your prayer time around that topic.

If we as a church family want to see the transformative power of God at work in our lives, the lives of our loved ones, and the community we live in, then we need to seek Him in prayer. I trust you’ll join us each month. Pastor Rod Heppell.

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions, with all kinds of prayers and requests’. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying, for all the Lord’s people.
— Ephesian 6:18
