Summer 2019

Preschool: Ages 2-4 (First Look)

Have you ever played PAC-MAN? The best part of that game is eating the large power pellets. Pac-Man immediately powers up, and then you can do anything. The bad guys can’t get you! You can eat them and earn bonus points doing it! It’s awesome! Feeling like we can do anything is a pretty great feeling. We may not have power pellets lying around that we can eat to power up, but we do have another power source—a real power source that gives us the power to do everything God wants us to do. His name is Jesus. And, He is AMAZING! We are going to Power Up through the next two months with the hope of creating a super fun and engaging experience for preschoolers to learn about the fruit of the spirit—what happens when we are connected to Jesus, the real power source.

Kids join us for an amazing journey into missions around the world!  We will be hearing each week from missionaries or about missionaries and the work they are doing in their respective countries.  We have people with ministries in Uganda, Italy and Bolivia sharing, as well as our Mexico short term missions team after they return from their trip in July.  It’s going to be a great summer to learn more about our world and how to be a missionary where ever you live (even here in Canada!).

Family UNite...coming this Fall! What is Family UNite? It is simply an evening for you and your family to unite. Families can be pulled apart by all sorts of things and these nights are designed to give you a break from the normal stress of life and focus on each other. Some nights will purely be fun, some nights will equip or encourage you and your kids and other nights will be serving others as a family. We hope through these events that your family can feel refreshed and more connected and also help you to connect with other families. Families Unite! More details to come this fall!

One great program we have for our Sardis Kids is Camp by Memory.  Camp by Memory is a program to help kids memorize God’s Word and get money for camp!
Kids are given portions of scripture to memorize throughout the school year and recite what they have memorized to someone who will test their accuracy.  If the scripture was memorized sufficiently, kids are awarded money for camp.
Stay tuned for details about Camp by Memory starting up again for the 2019/2020 year!

Sardis Kids Cirriculum

Your kids mean the world to you.  And we understand that you want them to develop a foundation of understanding in God to help them through life's questions and choices.  That is why we pour ourselves into making kids experience at church relevant and meaningful in an age appropriate way.

Family is very important and we recognize you as the spiritual leader to your children.  Our children's curriculum keeps that in mind.  Our Sunday School curriculum for ages 2-grade 6 is from thinkorange.com.  With this style of curriculum, each month focuses on a single Bible memory verse & life application ("Life App").  Through the month, kids explore this theme with Bible stories, games & discussion to make that truth memorable.

We're especially excited to partner with you in new ways to carry on that faith dialogue at home.  Watch for the info your kids bring home and check out the online resources.  (For Preschool: http://thinkorange.com/firstlook and for Elementary: http://thinkorange.com/252basics  and interactive online resources at https://studio252.tv/

Our Value Statement

To create a safe, fun and loving environment for children to grow in their faith, ask questions and share.  To experience engaging teaching, with meaningful and relate-able lessons that apply to each child.

Plan to Protect

We take your children's safety seriously.  Volunteers are screened and policies are in place for security and well being.  We also work hard to create an environment where the children feel safe to express their opinions, ask questions, and always feel welcomed.
