Preschool: Ages 2-4 (First Look)

We all want to be strong and courageous. We all want to say we would be brave when faced with fear. But how? What can help us be brave? How can our preschoolers be strong and courageous ‘Super Kids’ without the capes and super powers we see in the movies? This month we plan on giving preschoolers the answers to all of these questions.

We want our preschoolers to grow up knowing that they can be brave because God is with them. How awesome would it be if preschoolers began thinking, ‘God can help me be brave,’ when they are afraid to walk into the dentist office or talk to a new friend at school. Rather than shy away, they can go for it! And, they don’t even need a cape or a mask!

“BE STRONG AND COURAGEOUS. DO NOT BE AFRAID . . . FOR THE LORD YOUR GOD GOES WITH YOU.” DEUTERONOMY 31:6, NIV

GOD VIEW: THE CONNECTION BETWEEN THE COURAGE AND GOD’S CHARACTER, AS SHOWN THROUGH GOD’S BIG STORY

Throughout our lives, God may ask us to take risks or do something we may not feel prepared to do. But God will also give us the courage we need to face that challenge. We see this as Jesus faced death on the cross. He chose to be brave and follow through on God’s plan.  We will be travelling with Moses and the Israelites as they escape Egypt and first check out the Promised Land.

“BE STRONG AND BRAVE. DO NOT BE AFRAID. DO NOT LOSE HOPE. I AM THE LORD YOUR GOD. I WILL BE WITH YOU EVERYWHERE YOU GO.”

JOSHUA 1:9B, NIRV

Please note: There is no Sunday morning Sardis Kids Program for Gr.4-6 on the first Sunday of the month. These kids are encouraged to apply to be Helpers with the younger kids on this week every month.

Family Unite Logo.png

What is Family UNite? It is simply an evening for you and your family to unite. Families can be pulled apart by all sorts of things and these nights are designed to give you a break from the normal stress of life and focus on each other. Some nights will purely be fun, some nights will equip or encourage you and your kids and other nights will be serving others as a family. We hope through these events that your family can feel refreshed and more connected and also help you to connect with other families. Families Unite!
Please the events section of our website to find all the details on upcoming Family Unite events.

One great program we have for our Sardis Kids is Camp by Memory.  Camp by Memory is a program to help kids memorize God’s Word and get money for camp!
Kids are given portions of scripture to memorize throughout the school year and recite what they have memorized to someone who will test their accuracy.  If the scripture was memorized sufficiently, kids are awarded money for camp.
Sign up for Camp by Memory 2019/2020 has no begun! Please contact the Church Office if you’d like more information on how to sign up.

Sardis Kids Cirriculum

Your kids mean the world to you.  And we understand that you want them to develop a foundation of understanding in God to help them through life's questions and choices.  That is why we pour ourselves into making kids experience at church relevant and meaningful in an age appropriate way.

Family is very important and we recognize you as the spiritual leader to your children.  Our children's curriculum keeps that in mind.  Our Sunday School curriculum for ages 2-grade 6 is from thinkorange.com.  With this style of curriculum, each month focuses on a single Bible memory verse & life application ("Life App").  Through the month, kids explore this theme with Bible stories, games & discussion to make that truth memorable.

We're especially excited to partner with you in new ways to carry on that faith dialogue at home.  Watch for the info your kids bring home and check out the online resources.  (For Preschool: http://thinkorange.com/firstlook and for Elementary: http://thinkorange.com/252basics  and interactive online resources at https://studio252.tv/

Our Value Statement

Plan to Protect

We take your children's safety seriously.  Volunteers are screened and policies are in place for security and well being.  We also work hard to create an environment where the children feel safe to express their opinions, ask questions, and always feel welcomed.
